The Spirit is in me for salvation and on me for others

I woke up early this am to see my son and his wife off to a time of 18 months of so in Nagoya, Japan, teaching English and working with a church plant there, and sure, it was a bit emotional....
While I ate my porridge (yes I eat porridge most days and have done for years), I turned on a breakfast show....
Wow. It didn’t take long to feel the bands of depression begin to tighten on me and constrict. The news was not good. Death here and there, people lost and feared dead, earthquakes killing so many, governments failing, even a young 16 year old sailing around the world facing their greatest challenge yet (and maybe going to die)..and, a story on male menopause!
One of the presenters eventually did comment there were plenty of depressing things happening, so he said “let’s turn to Hollywood gossip for something saucy...”
I put the bands off easily, as living in a different Kingdom (the Kingdom of God), things are different. It is a Kingdom of love. It is a Kingdom of life.
John tells us that God is love, and if we abide in love, we abide in God and He in us (1 John 4:16). John also tells us that “In him was life, and that life was the light of men” John 1:4
I have a friend who is my saviour, I have a Father who loves me dearly, whilst loving millions of others over many ages, and, a Holy Spirit who lives in me for salvation and is on me for others.
My body is ageing and eventually I will leave this earth, but while I’m here I’m determined for the Spirit who is in me for salvation and on me for others to impact my life and make me more like Jesus, so I impact others together with the Holy Spirit and bring more of the Kingdom of love to this earth.
It’s the same with you, if Jesus is your saviour, the Spirit is in you for salvation and on you for others. What might that mean for you today as you do whatever you do every day?
Lots of love!
